APPRENTICESHIP PATHWAY FOR ELECTRICIANS

The Apprenticeship Pathway is the most common route to becoming a certified electrician in BC. Pre-apprentices have two options to start an electrical apprenticeship; they can either take entry-level trades training, like a Foundation program, or they can take the Direct Entry route and start working for an electrical company as a Qualified skilled tradesperson, Helper, or Pre-Apprentice, and take their first level of apprenticeship training after gaining at least a few months of hands-on training from their employer and being sponsored as an apprentice.
