Justin signed up for the Skilled Trades Employment Program (STEP) to get support with starting his career as an electrician and gaining hands-on experience in the field. He got connected with Sharon, a Regional Employment Placement Specialist, who helped him build the confidence he needed to apply for scholarships and work opportunities.  

“I was encouraged to complete different training that helped with knowledge of safety on the jobsite and the skills needed. All the hard work has paid off, and I credit my success to the STEP program, STEP staff and my mom. I look forward to completing my studies, be employed and enrolled in Level 2 of the electrician program. I encourage my peers to join the STEP program and take advantage of the support that the program provides. I have no regrets, and I am looking forward to becoming a Red Seal in the future.”
